This training course has equipped participants with a solid understanding of Pillar 1 of the UNGPs - the “State Duty to Protect” - and the connections between ILS and national action plans on business and human rights. It aimed at promoting and integrating decent work considerations into business-related human rights policies, strengthening national dialogues around international labour standards and contributing to the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It also addressed key challenges and opportunities in promoting decent work, sharing real-world examples of how countries incorporate labour rights into National Action Plans on Business and Human Rights.
OBJECTIVES
To provide participants with a clear understanding of pillar 1 of the UNGPs (the “State Duty to Protect”) as well as the linkages between international labour standards and NAPs on Business and Human Rights.
To provide insights on how decent work considerations can be integrated effectively in business-related human rights policies and national action plans.
To facilitate and strengthen national dialogue on the promotion and application of international labour standards and the fundamental principles and rights at work within the framework of the business and Human Rights agenda as keys to achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
