The Youth and SDG 8 for Sustainable Development Knowledge-Sharing Forum brings selected ITCILO education and training stakeholders – e.g., university students, recent graduates, and young professionals – front and center of currently ongoing debates on global competence development.
In its first day of implementation, the Forum creates a space for dialogue amongst international cooperation tutors, trainers, lecturers and professors from selected universities. Day 1 offers expert participants an opportunity to exchange views on what role Universities can play in fostering the next generation of international civil servants, diplomats and social entrepreneurs – young mission-driven leaders working in support of sustainable development.
In its second day of implementation, the Forum invites university students, recent graduates and young professionals from selected partner institutions to reflect on how do international organizations evolve, and what could the implications of these evolutions be for the global competence development landscape. Invited keynote speakers will support participants in exploring existing entry points to the development of a career in international organizations, civil society organizations, and other relevant global contexts.
This training activity is part of the INTEGRŌ curriculum.
OBJECTIVES

– Examine the career pathways university students can follow in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (with a particular focus on SDG 8);
– Unpack core issues at the heart of youth engagement in global governance structures with the support of keynote speakers from international organizations and tertiary education institutions.
