The aim of this course was to enhance capacities of participants on quantitative matters related to social security to support decision-making processes informed by data analysis and evidence. Based on national experiences, the course also provided a platform for a dialogue among participants for the development of a common data framework for SSO of the Caribbean.
OBJECTIVES
This training course offered participants the opportunity to:
- Review social protection concepts and explore regional and international developments
- Harness critical data and lead data-driven decisions
- Use data to demonstrate and show-case the add-value of social security organizations
- Leverage quantitative methods to assess past performance and future financial sustainability
- Develop expertise in the filed actuarial valuations of social security schemes and the experience in the Caribbean
- Engage in a dialogue for a common data framework for SSO of the Caribbean.

- Statistics: Legal/Effective coverage, SDG indicators and minimum set of statistical indicators

- Data from social security organizations: Opportunities, gaps and common data framework
- Digital transformation, data visualization and statistical learning techniques
- Actuarial valuation for social security organizations: Data, quantitative analysis, actuarial report and national experiences
- Pension reforms and policy implications
