Training of Trainers on E-Learning and Digital Communication

The overall objective of the course is to strengthen the capacity of trade union educators in Southern Africa to effectively deliver transformative online courses for trade union members (e-learning) in the context of effective service delivery and promotion of decent work for workers. OBJECTIVES The specific objectives are to: i. Outline and understand the digital tools and methods for trade union education and development; ii. Strengthen the trade union educators’ digital and e-learning skills and performance; iii. Strengthen the educators’ skills to design, prepare, deliver, monitor and evaluate an online or blended course; iv. Provide practical, hands on support to enable the educators to successfully conduct their online courses; and, v. Strengthen the exchange and sharing of experiences among the trade union educators. CONTENT The course combines training and online reading activities through a website, on the ITCILO eCampus specially designed for this purpose. The eCampus provides participants to have a first space to, fundamentally, socialize and exchange their experiences. The methodology is oriented under the educational criterion Practice / Theory / Improved Practice. The course is structured around the following four modules: • Module 1: Getting ready for e-learning and Introduction to Digital Revolution and E-Learning Opportunities for Workers’ Organizations • Module 2: Designing and setting out an online course • Module 3: Online pedagogy and practical skills in developing a trade union online course • Module 4: Curriculum Development and Presentation of the Trade Union Online Courses Number of hours 30
