Gender-responsive budgeting within organizations

The purpose of this e-learning course was to introduce participants to the operating principles and most commonly used strategies and tools for integrating a gender dimension into budgetary processes. OBJECTIVES The eLearning course aimed to provide a common ground of understanding on how to implement a gender-responsive budgeting. It illustrated why gender-responsive budgeting matters – particularly in the rapid transformation of the world of work- and provided practical guidance and tools to cost gender equality measures. The online training combined theory and practice aiming to ensure that participants completed the course with valuable information for implementing gender-responsive budgeting. CONTENT The online training programme included: • Four online modules with interactive readings accompanied by support resources including links to documents, virtual learning tools and recommended resources. • Four knowledge-sharing webinars presenting gender-responsive budgeting challenges, opportunities, and best practices. • Weekly tasks and technical discussions facilitated in the virtual forum by the course Tutor. • A practical activity delivered at the end of the course aimed at identifying entry points for implementing gender-responsive budgeting in participants’ organizations. • Mutual learning: at the end of the course, participants presented a synthesis of their work in a dedicated webinar.
