GENDER-RESPONSIVE BUDGETING WITHIN ORGANIZATIONS

The purpose of this E-learning course was to introduce participants to the operating principles and most commonly used strategies and tools for integrating a gender dimension into budgetary processes. OBJECTIVES The eLearning course aimed to provide a common ground of understanding on how to implement a gender-responsive budgeting. It illustrated why gender-responsive budgeting matters – particularly in the rapid transformation of the world of work- and provides practical guidance and tools to cost gender equality measures. The online training combined theory and practice aiming to ensure that participants complete the course with valuable information for implementing gender-responsive budgeting. CONTENT The online training programme included: • Four online modules of interactive readings accompanied by support resources including links to documents, virtual learning tools and a recommended resources. • Four web conferences with organizations leading gender equality measures, which presented good practices, challenges and opportunities to enhance gender equality, diversity and inclusion and to apply GRB. • Weekly assignments and technical discussions facilitated in the virtual forum by the course tutor. • A practical activity delivered at the end of the course: The project work consisted on costing a gender equality, diversity and inclusion plan. Practical activities were developed in groups or individually. • Mutual learning exercise: At the end of the course, participants presented a synthesis of their work in a virtual classroom for discussion, good practice exchange and mutual learning.
