EMPLOYERS YOUNG PROFESSIONALS’ ACADEMY 2022

The Employers Young Professionals’ Academy (EYPA) is one of the flagship initiatives of the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO), run in collaboration with BusinessEurope. The Academy seeks to establish a good network of young professionals across European employers’ organizations (EOs), upskill their young and dynamic staff, and offer a deeper understanding of employers’ role in social dialogue. The impact of the Academy and its effectiveness are ensured by innovative methodologies of training and facilitation and by leveraging new technologies, including the use of virtual reality. OBJECTIVES The Academy had the following main objectives: • Enhancing skills and knowledge of high-potential professionals to contribute to EOs’ organisational development in Europe; • Promoting a deeper understanding of the European dimension of industrial relations and of the business environment among future EOs leaders; • Fostering better knowledge and exchange among young professionals with various backgrounds of the ways social dialogue works in different EU members states as well as at European level; • Creating a network among European EOs’ professionals. CONTENT The Employers Young Professionals’ Academy consisted of a combination of different learning activities: • Pre-course work (background reading, literature, practical guides etc.) and support for knowledge-sharing, learning and networking through a dedicated internet platform – eCampus. • Activity 1: Being the voice of employers, Face-to-Face in Turin, 6 – 8 July 2022 (3 days); • Activity 2: Going for recovery and growth, Online, 29 August – 16 September 2022 (3 weeks); • Activity 3: Engaging as social partners, Face-to-Face in Turin, 21 – 23 September 2022 (3 days). • Networking events during the training programs. ACHIEVEMENT The training activities were designed to provide participants with: • Knowledge contextualized in typical work situations; • Simulation games to interact and learn through roles in policymaking; • A network to share experience among peers; • Opportunities for personal development and acquisition of technical skills, such as in communications, economics and negotiation.
