Mentoring support to the team of trainers on capacity building of School Advisory Board members in Lebanon

The Lebanese Minister of Education issued a resolution to establish a School Advisory Board (SAB) in TVET institutions to enhance cooperation between education and employers, as foreseen in the National Strategic Framework for TVET. The SAB assures the relevance of the TVET programmes to the community and the business world and guides the TVET schools towards developing competences that are and will be required on the labour market, to foster graduates’ employability.
The current mentoring support to the team of trainers on capacity building of School Advisory Board members in Lebanon is a follow up activity aiming to build on the results of a series of training courses on building the capacities of SAB members, including the blended course on Training of Trainers for capacity building of SAB members in Lebanon. The broader aim of the coaching programme targets to provide mentoring support to the team of trainers to effectively organise and deliver the capacity building training sessions for SAB members in Lebanon.
OBJECTIVES
The goal of the coaching programme is to ensure that SAB trainers are well-equipped, and confident at using ITCILO tools and methodologies and delivering high-quality, engaging, and effective training sessions that meet the needs of the members of the newly established SAB. The objectives stress on:
Providing guidance to SAB trainers in their preparation and planning process for the online and face-to-face training activities of the new SAB members
Ensuring consultancy support for an efficient application of the skills and knowledge acquired during the "Training of Trainers of SAB Members” training course to effectively conduct tailored training activities
CONTENT
The coaching programme covers the following activities:
The development of a Manual for Trainers on Capacity building of School Advisory Board members in Lebanon
The design and planning of training sessions
The development of a strategy for training methodologies and tools for both online and in-person settings
The delivery of training
ACHIEVEMENT
Attendance of 12 online coaching sessions
Preparation of a face-to-face training (including design of the training outline and sessions as well as elaboration of a training methodology and preparation of training materials and presentations)
Completion of specific assignments, elaboration of a trainer manual guide
