Knowledge-Sharing and Networking Event on Trade Union Actions on Sustainable Development

Knowledge-Sharing and Networking Event is a follow-up to the ITCILO Digital Global Workers’ Academy on Sustainable Development implemented in 2022. It has gathered the best performing participants of the Academy for a strategic thinking and peer-to-peer learning on the ways to advance trade union priorities through the Agenda 2030 and to promote sustainable economy, society and environment, placing working people at the centre of the development agenda. OBJECTIVES The objective of the event is to receive the global updates on the SDGs-related topics, engage in strategic thinking and create a collection of good practices on trade unions’ engagement in the development agenda. Upon the completion of the activity, the participants will be able to: - Contribute to integrating the SDGs in the trade union agenda - Initiate development of trade union position papers on the SDGs - Compare trade union actions on sustainable development across the regions - Apply good practices in own context - Participate in national SDG processes - Proactively promote workers’ interests in the implementation of the Agenda 2030 CONTENT The knowledge-sharing and networking event tackled the following topics: • Implementation of the Agenda 2030: Lessons Learned and Roadmap Ahead • Trade Unions’ Engagement with the United Nations on the SDGs • Peer-to-peer Exchange on Trade Union Actions on Sustainable Development • Macroeconomic Policy Coherence for the SDGs • Social Protection and the SDGs • Green and Just Transition • Digital Transition • Foresight NUMBER OF HOURS: The event will last for 4.5 days organized in 18 sessions, for the total of 35 hours of learning, including the pre-course assignment. Upon successful completion of the programme, participants are awarded Certificates of Participation.
