Guided by the principles and values of the ILO, this course aimed to provide participants with a set of solid skills and thorough knowledge on conflict resolution, with a specific focus on conciliation / mediation. Participants explored the conflict dynamic. They learned the different approaches to conflict resolution and the key principles of mediation. Furthermore, they had the chance to get familiarized with a four-step suggested mediation process and to develop and refine their soft skills.

RESULTS
Participants recognized the key elements and principles of conciliation / mediation and the different phases of this process.
In addition, they understood how to manage conflicts and the different approaches to address them.
The participants gained further knowledge on conflict dynamics and the different approaches to conflict management. In particular, they acquired deep and thorough knowledge of the skills needed to manage people, problems and the processes involved, with a special focus on the process of Conciliation/Mediation.
Participants were involved in three role-plays exercises related to conciliation/mediation that weighed at 60% of the final score, had to complete a written test that weighed 25% of the final score and were requested to draft a Personal Development Plan (PDP) that weighed 15% of the final score.
