CARIBBEAN ACADEMY IN MANAGEMENT OF EMPLOYERS’ AND BUSINESS MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS-EBMOs

The CAMEO is an adaptation for the Caribbean of the ITCILO’s Master Training in Management of Employers and Business Member Organizations (EBMO), offered by the Programme for Employers’ Activities of the International Training Centre of the ILO in Turin, Italy (ITCILO). The CAMEO will strengthen EBMO’s management staff capacity and enable them to advance in their professional careers, providing relevant services to their partners and being a more effective actor in the process of formulating public policies on socio-economic issues. OBJECTIVES • Identify strengths and weaknesses of one’s Business Organization’s governance system • Draft strategies to increase membership and retain members • Assess the business environment and identify the main obstacles and barriers to private sector development • Design and launch an effective lobbying campaign, including some communication tips • Design and implement new or improve existing services • Assess and manage Risks and prepare for a crisis. CONTENT • WEEK 1: Design and application of good governance methods in Business Organizations • WEEK 2: Membership management and revenue generation. Introduction to Services design & delivery • WEEK 3: Analysis of the business environment and definition of institutional positions • WEEK 4: Strategic Advocacy and Lobbying for maximizing results and impact • WEEK 5: Strategic Communications, Crisis & Reputation Management
