DIGITAL ACADEMY ON STRATEGIES OF UNION REVITALIZATION

Digital Academy on Strategies of Union Revitalization is an on-line learning journey implemented within the framework of the EU-funded project entitled Unions Say ‘Yes’ to Revitalization, designed by the ACTRAV ITC-ILO and the ETUC Youth Committee. The project is aimed at building union power through intergenerational partnership. The Academy is built around ETUC’s forward-looking strategy to boost trade union renewal and revitalization in Europe with young workers as the key drivers of change. It tackles the challenges young people are facing in the world of work and the crucial role they can play in trade union revitalization. The Academy provides the space for the dialogue between senior and junior trade union representatives and creates key building blocks for that strategic partnership. By boosting the youth participation in union democracy and action, the Academy aims to set in motion a more transformative change in union strategies and practices and bridging the gap between trade unions and the youth. Trained participants will set off the processes of inclusion of young people’s concerns into mainstream trade union policies and strategies and ultimately contribute to the renewal and revitalization of trade unions in 10 pilot countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Italy, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia and Spain. The Academy shows good practices from trade unions in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, Italy as well as the European Trade Union Federations.
