BUILDPROC Diploma in Project Procurement Management for Agricultural and Rural Development
OBJECTIVES
By achieving the Diploma, successful candidates demonstrate that they:
• Have gained a complete body of knowledge on project procurement management;
• Have learned, practiced, and demonstrated their capacities to use tools and techniques to manage the entire procurement cycle: to perform strategic procurement planning, to prepare budgets, to develop technical specifications and terms of reference, to prepare bidding documents and request for proposals, to conduct prequalification and shortlisting, to evaluate bids and proposals, to use various evaluation methodologies and to organize and perform the contract management function.
• Have become aware of the strategic importance of incorporating sustainability and SECAP requirements into procurement, contract award and contract management.
CONTENT
Participants have completed three of the qualified programmes within a 3-year period and a capstone project in order to earn the BUILDPROC Diploma in Project Procurement Management for Agricultural and Rural Development
• M1 certification programme “Fundamentals, principles and general practices of project procurement” – 60 hours of learning;
• M2 certification programme “Effective procurement processes for successful project implementation” 60 hours of learning;
• M3 certification programme “Advanced Procurement and Contract Management Strategies” – 60 hours of learning;
• Capstone project – 120 hours of learning
ACHIEVEMENT
The capstone project serves to demonstrate that candidates are able to apply knowledge, skills, and attitudes acquired in the certification programmes previously completed. It demonstrates that the candidate has built a deep understanding of the topics and is able to apply them autonomously in a piece of work that is practical and useful in his or her professional context. It is therefore the final piece that leads to the Project Procurement Specialist Diploma. Through the diploma, the ITCILO and IFAD certify the candidate's complete and specialized competencies in the field.
The Capstone project submitted by participants demonstrates that successful candidates are able to apply knowledge, skills, and attitudes acquired in the certification programmes previously completed. It demonstrates that the candidate has built a deep understanding of the topics and is able to apply them autonomously in a piece of work that is practical and useful in his or her professional context. The topic proposed by the participant and approved by the ITCILO experts, is inherent in the programmes that compose the diploma.
