Management of Vocational Training

The course was delivered in person in Jakarta from October 30th to November 3rd. It was designed to facilitate the development of a holistic understanding of the management of the TVET Polytechnics. Several interactive sessions were moderated by experts mobilised by ITCILO, including at the national level and regional. OBJECTIVES Increasing the technical knowledge of the participants to improve the functioning of the TVET Polytechnics, particularly in terms of: • Understanding the management concepts, by examining the management of vocational training centres from a quality-based perspective; • Examining the management challenges related to a vocational training Institution; • Understanding of the role of the institutions in skills development and transition from school-to-work processes. CONTENT The course focused particularly on: • Systemic approach to Skills Development • The strategic management of a vocational training centre; • The responsiveness of a vocational training centre to labour market needs; • PPP and the relationship between vocational training centres and industry; • The financial sustainability of vocational training centres: autonomy and self-financing; • Career Guidance and School-to-work transition; • Digitalizing the TVET offer; • From Structured Internship to Quality Apprenticeship • Improving occupational safety and health in a TVET Polytechnics; • Models of participatory governance of institutions providing TVET; • Promotion and communication of TVET; NUMBER OF HOURS: 32
